Farmer in central India tells story of barely escaping leopard attack
An elderly Indian farmer was attacked and injured by a wild leopard, only narrowly escaping with several injuries.
The farmer, identified as Baldev Burman, was attacked when he was returning home after farming in Badgaon, Katni, in Madhya Pradesh.
Visuals shot on March 26 show Burman's injured condition in broad daylight. The farmer shows the scar on his back and bloody wounds that he got after encountering the leopard in his field.
However, the farmer retaliated during the attack and struck the mammal a couple of times with a stick. The creature eventually retreated and hid behind a well, while Baldev ran towards the road and collapsed amid the street.
Following this, the locals informed the forest officials, and they rushed to the spot and transferred Baldev to a district hospital for immediate medical attention. Officials are currently searching for the leopard as panic is increasing among local people after the incident.
