This was the hilarious moment five bank robbers struggled to flee with the loot as the vault they stole turned out to be unexpectedly heavy.

Three armed men broke into the local branch of Bharat Micro Finance Company in Madhepura in eastern India on the morning of April 9 and asked the employees to hand over the money.

They were told that the money was in a small vault and the manager, who had the key, was yet to turn up for work.

The three suspects carried the heavy vault outside where their two accomplices were waiting on motorcycles.

But the iron vault proved to be too heavy to carry on the two-wheelers.

As they tried to load it, the vault fell down from the seat and then the rider struggled to keep balance.

The men faced a few anxious moments before eventually fleeing with the vault.

Local police said the vault contained Rs seven lakh (6,770 GBP) and are looking for the robbers.
