A 15ft-long python stuck on a roof was saved using a cherry picker crane.

The snake was seen coiled in the wooden beams of a resort’s roof when security officers found it in Ang Thong province, Thailand on June 14.

They called the rescue team for help who brought a crane with them as the structure was too high to reach using a ladder.

Security officer Juan Ruenjailak said: ‘I heard some hissing sound around the entrance so I walked around to find it. I was shocked when I saw the huge reptile eating pigeons on the nest.

‘During the last few months, a resort owner’s swan, living in the pond, was killed by a snake, but we could not catch it at that time.’

The snake was released back into the wild after the operation.
