A critically injured python was rescued and stitched back up by veterinarians in Madhya Pradesh, central India.

The 7-foot-long snake's belly was cut open after coming into contact with a plough.

The vets managed to clean the wound and stitch it back up in just an hour-long operation.

The python will be released once it has been deemed medically fit.

A seven-foot-long python sustained critical injuries and was rescued in central India's Madhya Pradesh on June 29. The incident took place in the Mordongri village, located in the Betul district.

Visuals feature the rescuers rushing the hurt python to a veterinarian's clinic. Once there, the medical experts swing into action and initiate the snake's surgery. While plowing, a machine struck the serpent, cutting open its belly. The doctors place the python's stomach back and seal it with stitches. Later, they cover the operated area with a bandage and put the healing snake inside a box.

A farmer noticed that he accidentally injured a python hiding in his field while plowing. He immediately called for rescue, following which the snake saviors reached the spot and took the serpent to medical attention. The medical experts conducted an hour-long operation, and the python was put under observation after sustaining at least 12 stitches.

The team of rescuers included officials from the forest department, serpent expert Adil Khan, and veterinarian Seema Thakur. Moreover, the 7-foot-long python will be released into the Satpura range after it is deemed medically fit.
