A mother elephant and her baby calf were rescued after falling into an old well in the city of Jashpur, in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

According to the villagers, the animals might have fallen there on the night of July 22.

When people noticed them in danger, they immediately informed the local police which then contacted the Kunkuri forest department.

The rescue mission lasted one hour.

The mother and her calf happily return to the forest.

According to villagers both the mother elephant and her calf might have fall in this old open well during night hours (22nd July) , in morning when some villagers noticed the big animal there they immediately informed the local police which informed the Kunkuri forest department . In a collective rescue mission of Police , forest department and villagers the well was digged with the help of JCB to make easy pathway for elephant , after an hour of rescue mission both the elephants were rescued .
