Football Stadium converted into mass covid19 vaccination site in cape town
The Athlone Stadium in Cape Town has been converted into a mass vaccination site as authorities prepare to open vaccinations to the under 35 year old group.
To date South Africa has only offered the Covid19 vaccine to over 35 year old individuals and essential workers of all ages.
Premier of the Western Cape , Allan Winde was present at the ribbon cutting along with senior health officials in the province.
Despite the peak in Covid 19 cases which the province has been seeing during the third wave, certain areas has been experiencing a low turnout for vaccinations.
Officials are hoping this site will help them in reaching more citizens
