Massive flames engulfed a 28-storey apartment building in northern China on Friday afternoon (August 27).

Video filmed in the city of Dalian in Liaoning Province shows the apartment building, a well-known landmark in Jinpu New District, engulfed in flames.

The fire started from the 18th floor of the building and quickly spread.

Property managers, police officers and firefighters evacuated the residents from the building and arranged for them to stay in a hotel.

The fire lasted for over six hours but had not been put out yet at the time of writing. No casualties were reported.

In total, 68 fire engines and 366 firemen were sent to the site. The cause is under investigation.

8月27日下午4时许开始，辽宁省大连市金普新区地标建筑凯旋国际大楼起火，至当晚8时许，大楼外围的火势依然很大，前后两侧都可以看到明火，不断的有着火的材料从高空掉落地面。大火是从19楼开始烧起来的，该楼层一住户称，当时在家闻到烟味，出去看才知道着火了，到底什么原因他并不清楚。后来在物业、公安、消防等部门安排下，他和其他住户顺利撤出大楼。当晚，有关部门已经安排大家入住酒店。目前当地消防部门正在使用高压高空设备压制火势，目前没有人员伤亡报道。
凯旋国际大厦是一栋公寓楼，目前在住共419户，818人。火灾发生后，经社区电话联系和消防逐层摸排，暂未发现被困人员，暂无人员伤亡。
到8月27日晚上10时，大楼起火已经超过6小时，仍未被扑灭。大连当地已派出24个消防站，68辆消防车，366名消防员在现场进行救援。（视频由大连台提供）
