A man in Jakarta had to be pulled out from a narrow pipe after chasing a monitor lizard into a sewer.

The man, known only by his initials TK, was searching for monitor lizards amongst the sewer but ended up getting stuck in a narrow pipe.

Officials eventually heard TK crying out for help and came to his rescue.

Footage from June 28 shows the rescue team slowly pulling TK out.

The man was trapped in the culvert for 7 hours.

Chasing a young lizard trapped in a sewer in North Jakarta, Indonesia

This incident occurred in the Pejagalan area, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Monday 28/6.

Initially, this young man with the initials TK was looking for monitor lizards, but unfortunately, he was trapped in a narrow sewer. When trapped, he screamed until he heard the Water Resources (SDA) officer, until finally he got help from the Jakarta Rescue team.

TK was trapped for 7 hours in a culvert with a depth of 10 meters. After being rescued, TK was immediately taken by the medical team for treatment.
