This is the moment a rescuer airdropped food aid to villagers in a town in Thailand flooded by Tropical Storm Dianmu.

Footage shows a member of the Burapa Water Rescue Team riding a powered parachute and delivering a package of ready-to-eat food to locals in Sukothai province on September 27. Eager residents retrieved the supplies, which were dropped in the middle of the flood.

Local Samart Suksai said: "Thank you to the rescue team that brought dry, ready-to-eat supplies. Parachuting during a flood is dangerous, but the team was ready to help people in need. Thank you on behalf of the villagers who received help."

At least 10 provinces in Thailand have been inundated by Tropical Storm Dianmu, according to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department of Thailand. The Thai Meteorological Department said rainfall is expected to subside within the week.

Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are in the middle of their tropical monsoon rainy season, which lasts until October or November. Soaring temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius are often followed by powerful tropical storms with thunder, lightning, rain and flash floods.
