A dairy farmer from southern India was surprised recently to find one of his newborn calves had two extra legs.

A vet who came to see the unusual animal in Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu on January 7 said the calf was suffering from a rare condition called polymelia that affects only one in 100,000 cattle worldwide.

The extra limbs may have to be surgically removed, according to the vet.

This extra limbs could prove more difficult and hence these have to be surgically removed. It might also be a genetic disorder concludes the vet.
