A girl goes missing after being attacked by a crocodile after bathing in a river in Indonesia.

Footage filmed on January 17 in Agam, West Sumatra province, shows a joint team traversing the Batang Masang river looking for Anisa (9 y.o), an elementary school student who went missing after crocodile attack.

Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency for West Sumatra province, Asnedi, said the victim attacked by a crocodile on Monday morning.

At that time, the victim and her sister Mila walked home along the riverbank. That's when the estuarine crocodile attacked the victim.

Mila who walking in front heard a sound like someone falling into a river. When she looked behind, she shocked to find that her sister was dragged by a crocodile into the river.

"The victim's sister tried to help his younger sister who had been gripped by the crocodile's mouth by pulling her body. But because dhe was in the water, dhe could not save her sister and the crocodile immediately swam towards the river downstream," Asnedi said.

After 9 hours of search efforts, the joint team finally found the victim dead at a close distance of 5 kilometers from the location where the victim was attacked.

According to officers, the river where the victim was attacked is the habitat of estuarine crocodiles. Officers appealed to local not to engage in activities around the river.
