Elderly Woman in Indonesia Killed by Crocodile While Washing Herself in River.

An elderly woman was killed by a crocodile while bathing in the Lasolo River, Asera District, North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia.

The woman, Nurliana Al Maulu, a 54-year-old housewife, was found by residents on the morning of Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

She had previously been reported missing in the river on Monday, October 6, 2025.

On the afternoon of Monday, October 6, 2025, after returning from a nearby garden, the victim stopped by the river to wash herself.

However, a crocodile suddenly attacked her and pulled her into the water, killing her. Shortly after she was reported missing, residents immediately worked together to search for Nurliana in the river.

They found her body approximately 11 kilometers from the river mouth.

The Head of the Kendari Search and Rescue Office, Amiruddin, stated that after the body was recovered, the victim's body was immediately handed over to her family.

"The victim was found and immediately taken to his family's house to be laid to rest. The victim was found dead after being attacked by a crocodile, with several parts of his body torn open," said Amiruddin.
