Army trainer aircraft crashes soon after take off in eastern India

An aircraft of the Indian Army’s Officers’ Training Academy, with two trainee pilots on board, crashed in eastern India's Bihar on January 28. The incident took place in Baghdaha village under Bodh Gaya block in the Gaya district.

Visuals feature a huge crowd gathering near the spot where the aircraft crashes in daylight. Amid the field, the locals manage to move and run away with the aircraft after the occupants are evacuated safely.

The pilots tried to make an emergency landing before the incident, but it crashed in fields adjoining a village. Fortunately, when the villagers noticed the trainer aircraft falling, they instantly rushed to the spot and pulled the cadets out.

They were further taken by the army personnel while the debris of the crashed plane was also collected by them from the spot. Moreover, the nature of the technical fault is yet to be ascertained.
