Summer storms damaged homes and pulled down electricity posts in northeast Thailand this week.

The inclement weather hit several areas in Nakhon Ratchasima province on March 8.

Locals were seen holding onto a tent to prevent it from being blown away. Motorists also took refuge at a gas station for safety as harsh winds whipped the province.

The districts of Non-Sung and Phimai were reportedly the most affected, with countless trees and electrical posts flattened after the storm.

Residents in other provinces such as Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, Amnat Charoen, and Ubon Ratchathani were also battered by downpours.

Local officials have started relief operations for the residents while affected roads are currently being cleared.
