This is the dramatic moment two passenger ferries collided in a port in Indonesia on April 22.

Footage showed the larger "Sinabung" vessel failing to stop as it was docking in the port of Biak in Papua Province and smashing into the smaller "Nusantara Ship 63".

According to local authorities, the smaller ship was damaged in the accident and left with a 2.5-metre dent to the bulwark.

Police investigated the incident and interviewed a number of witnesses, including the crew of both vessels.

No one was injured in the incident.

The local police through the Biak Numfor Police Chief AKBP Adi Tri Widianto said the collision caused the Nusantara 63 Passenger Ship to be damaged.
The report received, he said, was revealed when the passenger ship Sinabung was about to dock on the right side of the pier, experiencing a sudden movement when the captain ordered the completion of the engine (FWE) with the condition that the tros rope and the rear spring of the ship had been tied to the land border.
The front spring rope, he continued, was cut off because it stopped the ship from moving suddenly so the ship moved forward and hit the bulkwalk of the Nusantara Ship 63 which then nudged the Nusantara Ship 94 which was docked in front of it. According to him, the incident caused the Sinabung Ship to be slightly damaged because it was scratched at the top of the bow of the ship, while the Sabuk Nusantara 63 was damaged in the left bulkwalk, dented 2.5 meters in length and the Nusantara Kapl 94 was dented in the middle bulkwalk. into a length of about 5 meters.

AKBP Adi Tri Widianto continued, in this incident, the local police had asked for statements from a number of witnesses, including the crew of the ship's captain. He said there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Shipping Company, Biak Branch, Budi Wibowo said that the case has now been handled by the Port Authority and Biak Port Authority and the Sinabung Ship has been declared eligible to continue its journey to the next shipping route.
