Villagers in Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, used an excavator to help dig free a cow that became trapped in a muddy river bed.

The cow's owner went in search of the animal after it did not return home. She found the cow stuck in the watery soil and asked a group of locals for help.

An excavator was used to help hoist the cow out of the muddy pit.

Once free, the cow was given a check-up by a vet.

A cow that was grazing on the river bed struck in the slushy soil for more than two hours. The owner of the cow came back in search of the cow as it didn't return home.

Then she found her cow got struck in the slushy soil. Later she shouted for help. Villagers gathered and tried to pull it out but their efforts failed.

Then an earth mover vehicle was called to rescue the cow. With the help of the vehicle and the villagers the cow was pulled out. Vet checked for the wellness of the cow.

Later it was cleaned and fed by the owner.
