Stray dogs were spooked when a magnitude 4.9 earthquake hit southern China on Friday, May 20.

Footage shows the pooches running to the street and barking as the quake rocked a village in Yaan City.

Firefighters and policemen were dispatched to the area to evaluate the damage caused by the tremors. There have been no reports of casualties or property damage so far.

The earthquake struck 74 kilometres east of Kangding, China at 00:36 UTC, the United States Geological Survey said. It was recorded at a depth of 10 kilometres.
