Gas station employee sent flying as car leaves with pump still attached in China
A gas station employee was sent flying as a car drove off with pump still attached in southern China.
CCTV footage filmed in the city of Chengdu in Sichuan Province on May 24 shows a Ford Mustang suddenly being driving off when the fuel nozzle was still in the vehicle.
A female worker checking the numbers on the petrol pump noticed the incident and tried to grab the pipe but end up being tripped over.
A petrol station employee said to Sichuan TV that it is obvious that the motorist deliberately drove away to avoid paying the fee. Fortunately, the female attendant was not injured seriously.
According to a car rental company, the Ford Mustang was rented from their company but they could not find the customer.
The company rented the car to a person named Zhang on May 23 and they found the oil fill port was damaged when Zhang returned the car on May 25.
Zhang explained to the rental company that the damage was caused by someone stealing their petrol. So the company did not investigate the case.
A person who is in charge of the car rental company said to Sichuan TV that the license in the video was different from the one they put on, they suspected Zhang changed the license plate after renting the car.
Police are investigating the case. The video was provided by local media with permission.
