A hero passerby saved a kitten that was left to die inside a plastic bag.

Tharinee Wisai noticed the white plastic wriggling next to a trash bin in Buriram province, northeast Thailand on July 6.

The passerby opened it up and found a wary ginger tabby kitten struggling to breathe inside.

She then took the feline home to adopt and live with her other pets.

Cat lover Tharinee said: ‘I wonder who could be so cruel to do this to a kitten. I'm relieved that we saw the cat before it was too late.'

The kitten was unhurt despite being a bit tired from being inside the bag for a few hours.
