A pickup truck spun out of control and knocked over an electricity post while speeding along a wet road after heavy rain in Thailand.

Dashcam video shows the vehicle overtaking on the left side of the drenched road in Surin province on July 22.

While accelerating, it appeared to have lost control, skidding across lanes and slamming into an electric post on the centre island.

Motorist Morrakot, who captured the accident on camera, parked his car to pull the truck driver out of the wreckage. Luckily, there was also an ambulance on the opposite lane to provide first aid to the crash victim.

Morrakot said: 'The victim was was safe, but both the car and the pole were heavily damaged.

'I posted the video as a cautionary tale. When it rains, don't drive too fast because the road is slippery.'
