A massive 12ft-long king cobra was caught relaxing in the back of a pickup truck in Thailand.

Footage shows the chubby creature being measured by residents after they pulled it off the pickup truck in Surat Thani province on March 4.

The creature reportedly emerged from national park woodland and slithered towards the vehicle when the driver stopped by. It then climbed into the flatbed on the back.

House owner Jakkarin Wanpen said: ‘I saw two cobras on the park but I didn't know that one of them had entered behind my car. I accidentally drove it home with me. I was relieved that it was not hurt, and that it did not bite anyone at home.'

The king cobra is a venomous snake species that can be found in the Southern and Southeast Asia. It is the world's longest venomous snake that can grown an average of 10 to 13ft.
