Cobra caught hiding inside motorcycle in the Philippines
This is the nerve-wracking moment a cobra was caught hiding inside a motorcycle in the Philippines.
Motorist Vincent Reyes discovered snake skin dangling from the front of his black Yamaha NMax while parked in his garage in San Jose, Nueva Ecija.
Footage shows pieces of the exuviae scattered on the ground beneath the vehicle on June 11.
Suspecting that a cobra had nestled inside the two-wheeler, the owner and his friends called local snake wrangler Jernie Lloyd Agustin for help.
A man can be seen unscrewing the front panel of the motorbike. Upon removing the cover, they discovered the 3ft deadly cobra coiled around the internal wirings.
Jernie, equipped with boots, carefully pulled the serpent out using a grabber pole. The feisty cobra attempted to strike at him but was quickly pinned down.
Moments later, the group secured the reptile inside a sack and tied it shut with straw to prevent escape.
The snake was then turned over to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for relocation away from residential areas.
Jernie said: 'Vincent was about to leave, but the motorbike wouldn't start. When they opened it up to check, they saw the shed skin of a snake.
'They called me for identification, and I confirmed it was from a cobra. The skin was still fresh, so I went over.'
No injuries were reported.
The Philippine cobra is one of the world's most venomous cobra species. It can spit venom at targets up to 10 ft away and primarily feeds on small mammals, amphibians, and even other snakes.
