A man in a city in Indonesia did not accept being ticketed for beating a member of the Traffic Police from the Manokwari Police, West Papua Regional Police, Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

The incident occurred when Traffic Police officers were carrying out strong points and controlling operations against drivers of two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles in a control operation codenamed Operation Zebra Mansinam 2022 West Papua Police on Jalan Yos Sudarso, Manokwari City, West Papua Province.

From information obtained by Indonesian journalists, the incident of beating a member of the Manokwari Police Traffic Unit occurred at around 07.00 local time.

In that incident a man wearing a red hat fired a punch at a member of the Traffic Police but the Traffic Police member tried to block it.

The man was previously stopped by the Traffic Police while driving because he was not wearing a safety helmet and was suspected of being drunk due to consuming alcoholic beverages.

After a few minutes after the commotion, the man apologized for his actions against the Traffic Police member.

However, the man's apology was ignored by members of the Traffic Police and continued to take firm action by detaining the man's two-wheeled vehicle.

It was later discovered that the perpetrator was an unscrupulous member of the Indonesian Army Army who served in Manokwari. The Police immediately coordinated with the Kasuari Kodam to take firm action against the perpetrators.

The perpetrator has now been arrested and detained at the Kasuari Military Police Detention Center to account for his actions that are not commendable.
