A huge ibex wandered into a couple’s hotel room while they lay in bed before the pair had to hilariously back it out.

Evan Karzhevsky and her husband Greg were on holiday in the Negev Desert, Israel, when they had an unexpected guest saunter into their bedroom on October 19.

Hilarious footage that has been viewed 2.6 million times shows the huge, horned animal standing in their open doorway as Evan, 50, unsuccessfully tried to back it away.

Having nibbled at one of the bags, Evan – singer in the band Incidental Contact – finally managed to persuade the animal out of the French doors and back onto their balcony.

Evan said: “We love animals and we weren’t really afraid. It was really the size of its horns that was a bit concerning.

“We didn’t want to startle it so we spoke to it the way we speak to our huskies.

“We arrived late the night before, so I had just opened the door to get some fresh air and see the view of the crater for the first time. Then I got back into bed.

“This was one of the biggest Ibex we saw during our time there.

“I heard a thud outside and it poked its head in so I grabbed my phone and started recording.

After it backed out and left the room, I closed the door most of the way, but then saw there were about eight of its friends outside, babies and adults.

“This one laid down on the deck for about an hour and its friends stayed around too.

“It was the first ibex I’d seen since it was my first trip to Israel and we’d just arrived in the area the night before.”
