Hundreds of farm ducks blocked traffic on a road in Cambodia while heading to a rice field to feed on snails.

The footage shows drivers stuck in traffic as the animals surround them.

Motorist Ahmom Real said: "The birds knew well what to do and where to go. They are smart, but they were too many, so they caused delays".

Ahmom added that her family enjoyed seeing the birds and that some of the riders were entertained by the unusual encounter.

The footage was filmed in Cambodia on October 31.

The waterbirds were walking from a farm to a rice field to feed on snails in Battambang province on October 31.

However, the creatures stalled motorists and congested the dirt path as they climb down a ditch towards the paddies.

Footage shows the flock waddling along the road as riders and cars were caught in a jam.

Motorist Ahmom Real said: 'The birds knew well what to do and where to go. They are smart but they were too many so there was a slight delay.'

Ahmom added her family enjoyed seeing the cute birds and some of the riders were entertained with the unusual encounter.

She said: ‘These dirt roads don't have much cars and vehicles passing by so our duck encounter is rare.'
