Volunteers trooped to a market to hunt down a 15-foot-long python lurking under a stall after floods in Thailand.

Rescuers from the Kusoldharm Phuket rushed to the scene after villagers sighted the massive serpent slithering on the street in Phuket on November 2.

The creature had hidden itself under a vendor's stall, but was quickly ferreted out by the specialists with their snake tongs.

Footage shows the beast barings its fangs at the men as it was dragged out onto the pavement.

The team said the python wweighed a hefty 12 kilograms and measured 15 feet in length. It was hauled into a sack and was later released in the Khao Phra Thaeo wildlife sanctuary.

Rescuer Natthaphong Khongkim said: 'We went to check the market after the villagers called reporting the python slithering on the ground.

'We feared it might eat stray cats nearby, so we captured it. It was likely washed here during heavy rain and flood in Phuket.'
