Park ranger rescues injured deer stuck in forest in Thailand
This is the heartwarming moment a park ranger rescued an injured deer in a forest in Thailand.
Wildlife officer Katsaraporn Sapin said he was patrolling with his dogs when they heard a barking noise on the other side of the hill in Saraburi province on November 1.
They followed the sounds which led them to a river where they saw a wounded deer.
Footage shows the deer in the rocky shallow part of the water. The scared creature ran away when they saw them despite having trouble walking.
Katsaraporn said: ‘At first, I heard a distant sound from the other side of the hill. I thought it was a dog who lived nearby.
‘We went there and saw a deer instead. It was crying from pain.'
The park ranger called for the help of his colleagues and began evacuating the animal to receive medical help.
They draped a blanket on its head to keep it from panicking and took it to their truck before driving it to their facility.
Katsaraporn added they were unsure how the deer was hurt but it was in stable condition now.
He said: ‘The deer could have died if we haven't found it on time. He could have starved because he couldn't walk.'
The deer would stay at the facility until it recovers and could be released back into its habitat.
