Kind hairdresser transforms mum-of-three with rotten teeth into glamorous model
A kind hairdresser gives free makeovers to poverty-stricken locals - transforming one woman with hideously rotten fangs to look like a supermodel.
Stylist Richard Strandz acts as a real-life fairy godmother to underprivileged residents in his hometown Pampanga province, the Philippines as he casts his magic on them to turn them from unkempt workers to stunning head-turners.
One of his latest subjects is Rosemarie Galang, manicurist and mum-of-three, 40, who had lost nearly all of her upper front teeth.
Because of her low income, she said her teeth - which she needed removing and a set of implants of denture - had taken a backseat to her children's needs.
With her mechanic husband's income, the couple manages to scrape by but rarely have enough money left over for self-indulgence.
The self-denying mother said: 'I buy my kids' diapers and milk first, then save up for their tuition. But no matter how hard I work, I can never save up enough to go to the dentist because I also have to give the children their allowance.'
When she met Richard to give him a mani-pedi, the Good Samaritan decided to shoulder the expenses for a new set of false teeth.
Richard reached out to a local clinic and arranged for a consultation to have Rosemarie's teeth fixed.
The attending dentist then extracted Rosemarie's remaining rotting fangs before taking her measurements to prepare the replacement teeth, which arrived within a few weeks.
A delighted Rosemarie tried on the dentures like Cinderella slipping on her glass shoe and found they were a perfect fit.
She was finally able to flash a confident smile in years, no longer ashamed of the vast gaps between her teeth.
Rosemarie said tearfully: 'I'm incredibly grateful to Richard Strandz. He helped me regain my confidence in my appearance and in my looks.'
The manicurist is just one of many whom Richard has helped over the years.
Richard has made a hobby of helping people in need - whether by giving them free makeovers, or extending financial aid to them.
The hairdresser said: 'I started doing this around 15 years ago, but only began posting my videos on social media to inspire others.
'I help those whom I see on the streets, the roaming garbage collectors, the vendors in the markets - those who have no opportunity to experience this kind of pampering.
'The best part for me is seeing them so happy and thankful that they got to feel beautiful. Sometimes, I give them portraits of their makeovers to save as mementos.
'I'm overjoyed too when I see that I'm able to spread happiness to others.'
