A number of people in a city in Indonesia, to be precise in the city of Sorong, Southwest Papua Province, committed a heinous act by abusing a middle-aged woman who was accused of being the perpetrator of child kidnapping.

The terrible incident occurred on Tuesday (24/1/2023) morning. The victim named Wage Suti, 51 years old, was arrested by local residents while crossing a residential area.

Local residents were affected by leaflets in the form of photographs showing the faces of the perpetrators of child abductions in the area. Whereas previously the local police had confirmed that the leaflets were hoax information.

Local residents immediately abused the 50-year-old woman without humanity. The victim's body was beaten, kicked and the victim's clothes were torn by the violent residents.

Not only that, residents also burned the victim alive when the victim was helpless due to sadistic treatment.

There were four police officers who arrived at the scene trying to save the victim who was caught by local residents. However, because the number of police was small compared to the number of mobs that continued to be violent, police personnel could only witness the woman being brutally abused.

Ironically, the victim was tortured and burned in front of her daughter who happened to be passing by the scene. Even though the victim's daughter had asked the residents not to carry out this heinous act, the residents ignored this.

The victim was rescued by several local residents, but unfortunately, before arriving at the hospital, the victim was declared dead as a result of injuries resulting from the persecution and very serious burns on his body.

The Sorong City Police immediately moved to deal with it. The police immediately went after the perpetrators of the abuse and arson of a middle-aged woman who was later found to have a psychiatric disorder.

Hundreds of victims' relatives who did not accept that the victim was cruelly beaten, immediately staged a demonstration at the local police station. They asked the police to thoroughly investigate the case and arrest the perpetrators of the murder.

Sorong Kota Resort Police Chief, Police Commissioner Happy Perdana Yudianto, who met with the masses of the victim's relatives, emphasized that his party would reveal the case in a transparent manner. Local police are also on the hunt for the killers.

" The police are currently handling this case. We hope from the police that the residents, especially the victims' relatives, will entrust law enforcement that is being carried out by the police. To the victims' relatives not to take revenge and take the law into their own hands. This legal process will proceed according to the provisions laws that apply in this country," said Kombes Pol Happy Perdana Yudianto.

According to Kombes Pol Happy Perdana Yudianto, currently the police already know the identities of the perpetrators. They are pursuing everyone involved in this case.

"We will immediately process the perpetrators who have been caught, we from the police already know the identities of the perpetrators. Trust us to process this case to the end. All residents should not believe hoax information about the activities of the child kidnapping gang in Sorong City. This information is not true aka hoax," he said.
