A vehicle fueling station in Wakatobi, Southeast Sulawesi caught fire on Thursday 13 June 2024, early this morning, one person suffered serious burns.

5 large explosions were heard from the fire because in the fuel station storage warehouse there were dozens of jerry can basins containing 1 ton of pertalite and kerosene, resulting in explosions and causing the fire to continue to burn.

The fire burned down the fuel filling station which was installed on the side of the road in a residential area. Wakatobi Police Deputy Chief, Police Commissioner Laode Surahman, said that it was true that this incident occurred. Still waiting for reports from fire officers and police personnel to find out the cause of the fire.

"Yes, that's right, 1 person was burned. We are still waiting for the examination and investigation into the cause of the fire. It is now being handled by the police," said the Police Commissioner. Surahman.

It is known that the massive fire destroyed 2 fuel pump units and the mother of the owner of the fuel filling station suffered serious burns and was treated at the local hospital.
