Workers blocked roads with burning barricades as they protested against a pension reform bill at a Total oil refinery in France.

Footage shows demonstrators gathered outside the plant in the Donges commune on February 8.

They set alight a blockade to stop oncoming cars and also blocked a railway section linking Nantes city to the Saint-Nazaire commune.

The protests have disrupted the supply chain from refineries to fuel depots.

The disgruntled strikers were slamming a proposed bill raising the legal retirement age to 64.

TotalEnergies had earlier revealed that it had record a staggering net profit of 36.2 billion USD in 2022. The profits surged due to soaring oil and natural gas prices triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
