A kitten stuck in a concrete pillar was saved by a resident breaking it open with a mattock.
The struggling feline was heard crying inside the wooden structure, prompting a couple to inspect it in Samut Songkhram province, Thailand on February 24.
The house owners confirmed there was a moggy trapped inside so they decided to make a hole in it despite being newly renovated.
Footage shows Jittima's boyfriend smashing the plasterboard with the sharp farming tool.
Jittima said: ‘The poor creature was inside so we didn't have a choice. We were thankful we found it before anything bad happened.'
After making a big enough opening, the resident pulled out a white kitten with blue eyes. The couple named the cat Heng Heng and adopted it.
Jittima added: ‘Heng Heng will live with us from now on. We will treat the young cat like family. As for the pillar, we will hire someone to fix it.'
Heng Heng was unhurt and fed by the kind couple after the rescue mission.
