A landslide blocked a mountain road when steel bars from a construction project collapsed in the Philippines.

Footage shows soil tumbling onto Kennon Road in Benguet province after the steel bars from a slope protection structure collapsed in the area following heavy rain on May 9.

No one was reported hurt, but the incident rendered the road section impassable.

Julieta Aban, Information Officer of the local Public Works and Highways Office, said: 'The soil collapsed. It just so happened that the soil was disturbed when we had continuous rain the previous night. The soil was saturated and slid down.'

Authorities have not said when clearing operations will be completed.
