Flash floods caused by record-breaking rainfall swept away vehicles in southern China.

The video was filmed in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture in Hunan Province on June 29.

Between 8:00 pm on June 29 and 2:00 pm on June 30, a staggering 314.5 mm of rain fell in Baojing County, shattering the previous record set in 1961 since meteorological data was recorded.

The unprecedented downpour has triggered severe flooding, transforming the usually bustling streets into rushing rivers and sweeping away numerous vehicles including heavy trucks.

At around 5:00 pm on June 30, an official from Baojing County's emergency management bureau reported that the intensity of the rainfall has decreased, however, the damage caused is still being assessed.

No reports of casualties or injuries yet. The video was provided by local media with permission.
