A glass slide at a tourist attraction in southwestern China, suddenly broke, causing a series of collisions between inflatable rafts and leaving visitors teetering on the edge of a precipice.

The terrifying video was filmed in Huize County in Yunnan Province on July 23.

A segment of the glass slide had completely dislodged, leaving a void in the slide over 10 metres above the ground. A steady torrent of water gushed down the slide, where an inflatable boat, carrying a handful of petrified tourists, precariously hung. Two more rafts behind, each carrying passengers, careened down the slide and collided one after another.

A woman's shrill screams filled the air, repeatedly shouting, "Get down quickly!" In the aftermath, the passengers managed to abandon their rafts, gingerly making their way down the fractured slide.

On the afternoon of July 24, a staff member from the tourist attraction stated that the waterslide attraction was currently closed and undergoing repairs, likely to reopen to the public in about a week.

A spokesperson from the local government in Yuluk Township confirmed that no one was injured in the incident and that the waterslide has been temporarily closed. Meanwhile, a representative from the Huize County Bureau of Culture and Tourism stated that an ongoing investigation into the incident is underway.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
