A Great Fire Hits a Former Textile Factory in the City of Padang, West Sumatra
One Building Building former PT. Sumatex Subur, burned to the ground this afternoon. On Jalan Padang Anduring, Bandar Create, Lubuk Kilangan, Padang City, West Sumatra. Thursday.(27/07/2023).
The building used for archive storage was burnt down. Where the fire was known by residents there was a black smoke column behind the building.
The local community is trying to put out the fire and save the archives and valuables in the building. However, the fire quickly spread to the building.
Received a report from Padang city firefighters deploying 7 fire engines and 70 fire personnel. Working hard to put out the fire in great condition.
The aftermath of the fire did not go unnoticed by local residents. Where the location of the fire is adjacent to the Padang - Solok highway.
There were no casualties in the fire, but the building owner suffered a loss of up to 800 million rupiah.

Head of Operations for the Padang City Fire Department Sutan Hendra said. The fire occurred this afternoon just before the evening prayer.
"Knowing there was a building fire, we dispatched 7 firefighting units and 70 firefighters, found that the fire was already growing at the location," he said.
There were no casualties at the time of the fire. However, the building owner PT. Sumatex Subur suffered a loss of up to 800 million rupiah.
"The process of extinguishing the fire until it cools down takes one hour. At the location of the fire, currently the police will conduct an investigation as a result of the fire," he explained.
