This is the heartwarming moment kind locals handed out food to stricken residents in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Doksuri in the Philippines.

Footage shows youngsters pushing a large pot of chocolate rice porridge on a basin across the deluge to distribute to flood-hit villagers in Calumpit town in Bulacan province on July 31.

Resident Marigold Bernardino said: 'I saw on Facebook Live that the local youth council was handing out food in our area, so my aunt and I grabbed a bowl and waited for them outside.'

The provincial government has placed Bulacan under a state of calamity due to severe floods affecting some 850,000 people.

Doksuri, known as Egay in the Philippines, battered the country but weakened slightly overnight, losing its super typhoon status on July 26. It brought gale-force winds and heavy rain, killing at least 30, the country's national disaster agency said.

Chinese media said Doksuri has landed in Jinjiang City in China's southeastern Fujian province on July 28 morning. The typhoon has displaced tens of thousands of people and left at least four dead, state broadcaster CCTV reported.
