In Haifeng, Guangdong Province, China, several tourists were swept away by a sudden flash flood caused by heavy rain in the upper reaches of a river.

The video filmed at the Lotus Mountain tourist area in Guangdong province on Aug 1 shows tourists rushing to escape the river when a flash flood suddenly erupted. People on the shore loudly warned those in the water of the impending danger, but because of the rapid water flow, there were still four tourists who were swept away by the flash flood while playing in the water.

On Aug 3, the local authority released an issue that all people who fell into the water had been found, and four of them lost their vital signs. The aftermath of this accident is still undergoing.

According to media reports, the local authorities responded by claiming that the tourists were privately entering the water violating the area's no-entry rule.
