A tourist was detained for splashing hot water on a staff member of a rafting scenic spot post-collision in eastern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Linyi in Shandong Province on August 19, shows a woman named Xiao suddenly losing her temper and then grabbing three cups of hot water and hurling them at the face of Wang Ping, a senior park manager during a discussion to resolve an incident.

According to reports, Xiao experienced a minor collision that left her with slight abrasions and resulted in her glasses being lost in the tumult while partaking in a popular river rafting activity at the scenic area.

Wang reported the incident to the police and they are investigating the case.

The conclusion saw Xiao receiving a 10-day administrative detention as a penalty for her unruly behaviour.
