A brave animal rescuer caught a giant cobra hiding in a family's bedroom.

Footage shows Bang Cha calming the 13ft-long venomous serpent coiled in the corner before it slithered to the side where the mattresses were hidden in Krabi province, Thailand, on January 28. Bang eventually secured the animal on its neck and carried it out of the house.

Researchers found that 7,000 people are treated for snake bites each year in Thailand. Suchai Suteparuk from the Division of Toxicology at Chulalongkorn University reported that 30 of those die, with cobras being the biggest killer.
