Huge wriggling centipede pulled from schoolgirl's earhole
This is the horrifying moment a huge wriggling centipede was pulled from a schoolgirl's earhole.
Eight-year-old Cherie Anne Galvez was sleeping in her bedroom when she suddenly woke up and called for her parents in their home in Manila, the Philippines on August 18.
The youngster pointed to her ear, and upon probing, shocked father Aries found a little dark bug's tail squirming inside.
Footage shows Cherie on the bed while worried Aries successfully extracted the live 1.5-inch-long insect using a pair of tweezers.
The girl's ear had a small wound that bled due to the centipede's bite, but father Aries said there was no significant damage found by medics.
He said: 'I shiver every time I think about the creature in my daughter's ear. It could have burrowed further down her ear. These days I check the bed sheets and the whole room to make sure there are no insects around.'
Centipedes are venomous, but their bites are generally not dangerous to humans, which cause mild to moderate pain, swelling, and redness. Symptoms typically resolve within a few days.
