STORYLINE: 

The speaker of the Cairo-based Arab Parliament said he's optimistic about Arab-Chinese cooperation.

Adel Al Asoomi led a delegation of Arab lawmakers for a visit to China in late August, where they discussed parliamentary cooperation with the Chinese side.

"It was an excellent visit with very positive results in strengthening Arab-Chinese relations.
The visit we made to China a few days ago was important, and we received all support and positivity from our friends in China.
This encouraged us to work on further boosting the Arab-Chinese relations, especially parliamentary ones."

The sixth China-Arab States Expo is currently underway in China's Yinchuan, as a platform for China and Arab states to promote pragmatic cooperation.

Asoomi expects that ties between the Arab world and China will continue to grow and achieve further positive results for both sides.
