An astrology fan recorded the movement of the moon in the half-moon phase using a time-lapse technique at a hotel in Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, on Friday, September 22, 2023.

The recorder used a Canon 700D DSLR camera to record each process of the event for 7 minutes, 25 seconds.

This phenomenon is the phases of the moon that are visible from the earth. From a number of moon phases, there are four main phases: the new moon phase, the early half moon phase, the full moon phase, and the late half moon phase.

The period of revolution of the moon in its orbital plane is calculated from the position of the new moon phase to the initial half-full moon phase to the full moon phase to the final half-full moon phase and back to the new moon phase, which is called the synodic period, which on average takes 29.53059 days.

NOTE: The video has been sped up from the normal recording time of 07'.25".
