Waiter accidentally boots customer's phone into hotpot at Chinese restaurant
A waiter accidentally kicked a customer's phone into a pot of broth at a restaurant in southern China.
CCTV footage filmed in Chongqing on November 6 shows a waitress taking photos for the customers and a waiter reaching out to the smartphone to help.
However, the slippery device suddenly cascaded towards the ground. The waiter kicked the phone to try to save it but sent the phone sailing into the hotpot.
The waiters then lunged to the rescue, attempting to fish out the phone.
The waiter offered to compensate for the smartphone. However, the customers declined the offer. The restaurant then replaced the broth for them.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
