A collapsed crane was left dangling from a building under construction as a strong earthquake hit the Philippines on Friday afternoon, 17 November.

Video shows the heavy equipment collapsing, causing debris to fall from the Paragon Davao skyscraper in Davao City following the magnitude 6.8 earthquake on November 17.

Philippine seismology agency PHIVOLCS said in a bulletin that the tremor struck at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles) at 4:14 pm local time. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said no tsunami was expected.

Damage and aftershocks can be expected from the offshore quake, PHIVOLCS said. Intensity 8 were felt in the southern Philippines provinces of Sarangani and South Cotabato while Intensity 5 was felt in Davao del Sur, it added.
