In a decisive move, the IDF's 162nd Division, under the command of Lt. Col. Itzik Cohen, is actively dismantling Hamas' long-established centers and capabilities in the Gaza Strip. Over the past hours, Nahal Brigade's combined combat forces and commando units have gained operational control at Shati Camp, a central Hamas stronghold.

The division's efforts have led to the discovery of more than 160 tunnel shafts and the striking of approximately 2,800 terrorist infrastructures. Strategic assets secured include the Force 17 outpost, the Hamas security quarter, Rantisi Hospital (utilized for military activities and hostage holding), and the Bader outpost.

The 401st Brigade's combined forces, led by the Givati Brigade, entered the Gaza Strip, targeting various locations in the Shati Camp. Simultaneously, the Nahal Brigade's forces took control of the Shati outpost, eliminating terrorists, destroying infrastructure, and discovering tunnel shafts.

Commando Brigade forces operated in the north of Shati camp, clearing areas with anti-tank missile launchers and weaponry. Preceding the ground forces, the Air Force struck Hamas targets, and the 215th Brigade opened fire to prepare the area for the subsequent operations.

Lt. Col. Itzik Cohen stated, "We have created conditions for dismantling the military and governmental capabilities of Hamas in Gaza City, eliminating over 1,000 terrorists since the beginning of the ground operation. Missile launches from the northern Gaza Strip have significantly decreased by approximately 80 percent."
