A festive atmosphere turned into a surprise for diners at a restaurant in Handan, northern China, when the owner's 8-year-old son set off a string of firecrackers, startling the other diners.

The restaurant owner explained that the firecrackers were initially prepared for the restaurant's opening earlier and he would chastise his child for the prank.

Despite some diners leaving without finishing their meals, they expressed understanding for the child's antics. There were no reported injuries.

12月24日，河北邯郸，一餐馆内客人正在就餐，老板的儿子玩耍时点着了一挂鞭炮，满屋顾客被吓到四座惊起，鞭炮渣也都溅到了餐盘里。据饭店老板介绍，孩子今年8岁，鞭炮是当时开业时候准备的，孩子调皮点着鞭炮，后来也对孩子进行了批评教育，店内的顾客也都没事儿，虽然有人没用完餐，但也对孩子的行为表示了理解，当时还有人想着拉开保护住自己的儿子，大家都结过账后就离开了。
