In a harrowing incident on Friday, January 5, Deputy Prevatt and Deputy Lichty sprang into action to respond to a crash involving two adults and a small child. The vehicle had veered off the roadway and plunged into a water-filled ditch, leaving its occupants in a perilous situation.

Upon arrival, the deputies discovered a dazed and injured male outside the vehicle. Their attention quickly turned to an adult female and a small child trapped inside the partially submerged car. With swift determination, deputies forced entry into the vehicle, coordinating efforts with Palm Coast Fire Department firefighters who had also arrived to assist.

Working together, they successfully rescued the conscious child from the car seat, promptly turning the child over to awaiting firefighters and paramedics for evaluation. A collaborative effort ensued as deputies and firefighters joined forces to extricate the female occupant from the vehicle.

All individuals involved were transported to AdventHealth-Palm Coast for medical treatment, while the crash investigation was handed over to the Florida Highway Patrol.
