A herder rescued a wild eastern roe deer that was caught by its front hoof in a trap in northern China.

The video was filmed in Hunlunbuir in Inner Mongolia on January 25.

A man named Liu driving past a forest spotted a trapped roe deer.

Initially, the roe deer appeared somewhat agitated upon noticing his approach. Liu assessed the situation and fetched pliers from his car to break open the trap.

Remarkably, the animal seemed to understand that the man was there to help, and gradually calmed down.

Even after being freed, the roe deer lingered for a while before finally wandering off, seemingly reluctant to leave its rescuer.
