Firefighters rescue man who jumped into raging river to save pet dog in California
This is the dramatic moment firefighters rescued a California man who jumped into a raging river to save his pet dog.
Footage shows the Los Angeles Fire Department's Air Operations lowering a rescuer into the turbulent waters of the Los Angeles River to retrieve the conscious local on February 5.
The pet owner had leapt into the river to save his pet, but was caught in the strong currents himself.
Officers successfully lifted the man and the dog to a local hospital to receive medical treatment for minor injuries.
